“Kami di atas runtuhan memanggil nama, dibalas dengan suara lirih dan batuk. Suara batuk ini membuktikan laporan masyarakat yang masih mendengar ada suara minta tolong di dalam runtuhan sejak Senin dan Selasa kemarin,” ujar Azim.
Siang hingga menjelang gelap, proses evakuasi dikebut dengan menggunakan beko. Sumber suara batuk menjadi patokan proses pencarian.

“Sangat sulit. Masjid dua lantai ini makin padat ke bawah. Satu-satunya cara, lubang bekas kubah kita gali. Kita lakukan pemotongan besi. Kita menembus titik diduga posisi terakhir korban, kemungkinan adalah perempuan berusia sekitar 40-60 tahun,” ujar Azim.
Namun sampai hari gelap, tidak ada tanda-tanda tubuh yang terlihat dalam reruntuhan. Proses evakuasi dihentikan sementara untuk dilanjutkan Rabu pagi, 8 Agustus 2018.
“Kami sudah berusaha sampai menjelang gelap. Tapi posisi korban terdekat yang masih terdengar suara batuk tetap tidak ditemukan. Kami akan melanjutkan evakuasi penuh Rabu pagi hingga sore,” kata Azim.
Sosok Azim, yang ikut ambil bagian dalam proses evakuasi rupanya juga memendam cerita pilu. Azim adalah anak asli Sengiggi, Lombok. Sehari-hari menetap di Yogyakarta sebagai pelajar juga komandan Disaster Emergency Response ACT Yogyakarta.
“Rumah saya juga kena gempa. Saya pulang kampung ke Lombok. Tapi rumah juga sudah hancur rata dengan tanah di Senggigi,” katanya.
